Introduction
The circuit breaker contact system consists of main and arcing contacts. One of the methods to assess the condition of arcing contacts is to inject high direct current (DC) through the circuit breaker contacts and measure the voltage drop during the breaker operation – a process called Dynamic Resistance Measurement (DRM). It make assess the SF6 circuit breaker arc contact without disassembling the interrupting chamber. HANDY GKC433DR switchgear analyzer with DRM202 dynamic module perform contact dynamic resistance test. The DRM202 sets with rechargeable batteries for pure DC power source. Both dynamic and static resistance can be measured. GKC433DR records the voltage drop, current, contact motion during the breaker operation.
Features
Coil/motor current measurement
HANDY GKC433DR switchgear analyzer records the current signature curve of the command coils during circuit breaker operation. Deviations show possible electrical or mechanical defects of the trip or close control components. Recording the motor current, for analysis the inrush and steady-state current as well as the spring charging time.
Motion/contact travel measurement
By using a motion transducer, it will check the circuit breaker's operating mechanism and mechanical linkage. The results may indicate potential mechanical wear of the breaker.
Dynamic contact resistance measurement
Records the contact resistance curve during circuit breaker operation and delivers information about wearrelated problems with main and arcing contacts.
Static contact resistance measurement
Checking contact resistances, this micro ohm test validates that the breaker’s main contacts have a very low resistance path to ensure that the load current flows with low losses.
Integrated power supply
HANDY switchgear analyzer integrated DC power supply enable faster and safer wiring set up. The power range 5 to 270V/10A, can be adjusted. Users don’t need to perform any connections to live DC circuits of the substation battery. This is especially beneficaial when testing medium- voltage breakers which must be completely disconnected and isolated from the substation. The constant output power during all tests guarantees reproducible test results.
Faster and easier testing
With HANDY switchgear analyzer, you need to set up the wiring connections once. You can then perform all tests in one turn. The results of timing, contact resistance, coil currents, and motion tests are then immediable as one combined test report. The device set with screen and keyboard for operating. You only need to transport one device to the test site.
